Love Lockdown: Date ideas

black-couple5

After dating someone for an extensive period of time you sort of run out of things to do. The movies and dinner become so cliche’. Here are some date ideas for couples:

Day at the Beach- If you’re near the coast like me, a early morning drive to the beach will be a great inexpensive day getaway. Gas up the SUV, bring your iPod, and enjoy the ride. Once you get there, relax and soak up the rays. OH, don’t forget the sunscreen. Try out a water activity such as jet-skiing or para sailing. Indulge in a huge seafood dinner. The drive back you’ll be sleepy but stay awake and critique the images on your digital cam while the hunny drives

In Home Wine Tasting- Go to the local spirits store and pick up a few bottles of wine that you’ve never tasted. Set the atmosphere with candles and soft jazz. Accompany the wine with cheese and dessert. After a few glasses you and your hunny will enjoy the rest of the night!

HIS and HER home Manicure and pedicures-now I know some ladies wouldn’t want their man messing up their nails or feet but I assure you the time spent will be entertaining. You will enjoy the time spent laughing while fussing at him telling him what he’s not doing right. On the flip side, if your man has bad feet, this is an excuse to help him out while avoiding the “metro-sexual’ connotation that keeps men from going to spas and nail salons.

Volunteering -Spend a few hours volunteering with a local non profit organization of mutual interest

Museums- Besides an art or history museum go to a wacky museum like the wax museum, spy museum, bead museum, museum on crime and punishment. I guess this would depend on your city…I’m kinda biased since I’m in a city rich in culture

City Drive-drive around areas of the city exploring new places you might want to try. Bring your camera and take pics of homes you like. Print the photos and slap it on your hunny’s frig so he gets the idea

D-I-Y Upgrade- If you’re a couple already living together pick a room to re-decorate for the new season. Go pick out paint, accents, and furniture that you both agree on. Instead of hiring people to do the work, do it yourself as a couple

AND if none of these ideas suit your taste, couples SHOPPING never fails! LOL But seriously whatever you do keep it fresh, exciting, and fun
