Lent: Pray, Fast & Give

I’m not Catholic but today is Ash Wednesday which marks the beginning of Lent- 40 days of prayer and fasting leading up to Easter. Everybody is talking about what they are going to give up for Lent. I haven’t decided what to “give up” because obedience is better than sacrifice but I am going to set myself aside and draw closer to God. I pray that during this time God imparts some divine revelation knowledge and wisdom into my heart. I ask that he cleanses me with a pure heart and unselfish motives so I am able to walk in love with everyone and fulfill his purpose for my life. I’m also believing him to grant me supernatural spiritual strength to stand against the attacks of satan. It won’t be easy but I know not my will but THY will be done. I encourage every reader to ask God what he would have them to do during this sacred time.
