Precious aint so Precious

I’ve procrastinated on this post for some time now…mostly because so many critics are against the film. Initially I thought the film was going to be so extraordinary that I would write this great post about it but when I left the theatre, I walked away with all types of emotions. I’m not going to get “all deep” because sometimes less is more but these are just my thoughts:

Fakes are never in Fashion

I came across an interesting article about counterfeit goods including designer handbags made by luxury retail brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, and Prada. I knew the fake handbags were getting out of control but I wasn’t aware of other fakes such as medicines, shampoos, laundry detergents, semiconductors, computer equipment and even airplane parts! They all have a huge impact on the economy. Look at these stats…

The Roberts Empire

On my journey towards TOTAL LIFE PROSPERITY, I am always reading about others that prosper and do well. I was surprised and proud to see an article featuring Black men from my hometown on CNN.com. The article: Two brothers, no fears and $1 billion empire highlights how these brothers created an empire now made up of 76 companies including: commercial real estate, TV stations, hotels, telecommunication companies and more. One statement that caught my attention is their business philosophy: You diversify or die. And they don’t believe in a full retirement. “What other animal retires?” Michael Roberts says. “If a lion retires today, tomorrow morning he becomes his brother’s breakfast.”
