Jesus and Jigga UPDATED!
In a previous posting Jesus and Jigga, I expressed my views towards rapper Jay-Z and his response toward the widely viewed video that suggests he goes against Jesus in his song “Empire State of Mind” featuring Alicia Keys where he says:
“Jesus can’t save you, life starts when the church ends”
In a …

Usually known for his subliminal shots instead of addressing “beef” directly, rapper Jay-Z has finally taken the direct approach to the latest claims of him being a devil worshipper. The most recent attack is on the verse in his song ” Empire State of Mind” where he says: “Jesus can’t save you, life starts when the church ends” Jay-Z addresses these rumors by adding he still maintains a relationship with God no matter what his particular opinion is on religion. As a former, DIE HARD Jay-Z fan this a subject that I feel strongly about. I’ve strayed away from speaking about it until now! Jay-Z calls himself Hova, J. Hov, Hov, which are all shortened versions of JEHOVAH because he believes he’s the “savior” of the rap game and as he likes to call himself, a “god MC”. Now some might not be offended by that but I am!
Last night, I went to see Teedra Moses perform at Club Liv here in DC. I heard rave reviews from her recent Atlanta and New York shows so I was eager to see her live. Rarely do you hear an artist that sounds EXACTLY like their CD. The girl can blow and her band was jammin’! She performed songs from her album Complex Simplicity and recent mixtapes.Teedra’s down-to-earth, home-girl, sassy personality shined throughout the upbeat show. After the show was over I had the pleasure of meeting her.
While doing some online research about music I came across some information about Kingdom Music: Young, Fly, and Saved. I was pleasantly surprised and relieved that this type of music exists. But somewhat disappointed that I am just now hearing about it…especially when the founder P-Dub (previously known as Pretty Willie) is from my hometown!

I have mixed feelings about the death of legendary pop musician Michael Jackson. Surely I wasn’t happy but I wasn’t overwhelmed with emotions and sad like other fans…mostly shocked I suppose.More than anything I am baffled that the continuous media scrutiny on his previous child molestation accusations have turned into elaborate celebrations of his life, his music, and his influence on music worldwide over the past 4 decades. The same blogs, writers, reporters, comedians, and media respondents that once made a mockery out of him are now singing his praises????
Today I received a disturbing email from a concerned friend that really touched me. I was moved with compassion… almost to the point of tears. This music post is dedicated to all my ladies that are dealing with relationship issues on their personal journey towards TOTAL LIFE PROSPERITY!
