So What’s in My Bag?

Wallet- with no cash…I rarely carry cash but I’m working on it; Sephora Compact- for my daily face checks; CO Bigelow Mentha Lip gloss- love this stuff and it makes your breath smell good; rat tail comb- only a buck but a life saver; hand sanitizer- people and places are nasty; business cards- never know who I might run into; Gum; St. Ives Oatmeal & Shea Butter Lotion; CrackBlackberry- never leave home without it! MAC makeup bag with all the essentials- black eyeliner, mascara, Bobbi Brown tinted moisturizer, MAC bronzing powder, concealer, and eye shadows, & brushes.

Everything in my purse is considered essential so I can’t pick a favorite item

FINE FRIDAY with Idris Elba

HAPPY FRIDAY! This one is strictly for the ladies who adore fine, dark skinned men!

I got my inspiration from Belle over at A Belle in Brooklyn. I’ve been following her blog for awhile now and I love it! I’ve mentioned her before in previous post and you may know her from VH1’s reality show Let’s Talk About Pep…she’s the “Cutie Run” originator. Anyway, in her latest post she talks about the men in the film Takers featuring TI, Chris Brown, and Idris Elba. She made a statement that I totally agree with!

I’ve always had a “thing” for dark skinned guys since high school and Idris is no exception. I didn’t pay him much attention until Tyler Perry’s Film Daddy’s Little Girls when he wore the instant turn on uniform: White V Neck, Jeans, and Timbs! I love that look on a man!

FELIZ CINCO DE MAYO!

This morning when I checked Twitter my whole timeline was talking about Cinco de Mayo and I couldn’t help but think of my favorite episode of Girlfriends.

Contrary to popular belief that Cinco de Mayo (May 5th) is another excuse to get wasted, its actually a voluntary holiday that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over French forces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862. Cinco deMayo has limited significance nationwide in Mexico, the date is observed here in the states and around the world as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. Later this evening I’ll be joining some girlfriends at Alero on U Street for cheap Margaritas but in the meantime enjoy this clip of the Girlfriends Cinco de Mayo episode! Joan and William were hilarious!!!!

I don’t really consider myself a “writer” or a “blogger”… This blog is just a creative outlet and a small glimpse of my life towards Total Life Prosperity. As a frequent blog surfer I’ve noticed that most “bloggers” have a specific writing style and theme. Fashion and beauty bloggers usually post similar types of content but sprinkle it with their own special touch. I am no different. I self admit that I am inspired by other blogs as well but my mother always taught me to“give CREDIT when credit is due “. I ALWAYS make sure I give credit to the proper source so imagine how shocked I was during my morning blog roll when I came across a blog post VERY reminiscent to my previous posting Spring Inspiration. The blog is titled: Look Fab this Spring with these 4 Looks. Giving this “blogger” the benefit of the doubt I won’t accuse her of swagger jacking completely but I do find it quite amusing that none of her previous blog posts include anything remotely related to fashion or how-to get “the look”. I’ll assume that she saw something she liked and was inspired but it still left me with an uneasy feeling. I even tweeted about it.

My Twitter followers said “I should be flattered”

I sent the link to my beau and immediately he said: “Yeah, she bit your style”

My bff said:”What was the point of her posting the looks without telling readers where to get the outfit?”

As I write type it’s still very amusing because I called myself being “nice” by reaching out to her (via internet) when I found out she was from St. Louis. Its bad enough we are using the same FREE template! At least stick to your own creative ideas! Geesh! If you’re reading consider yourself UNFOLLOWED! I won’t share anymore information about this blog because I’m 2 seconds away from completely calling her out! I can’t afford to dedicate anymore energy to this.

MY RANT IS OVER! This just fueled me to make my blog even better!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TOTAL LIFE PROSPERITY FAMILY!!!!!!

If you haven’t noticed I’ve been on vacay for the past 2 weeks with family and friends in St. Louis and Ohio. I enjoyed every minute of it! I guess it’s only right for me to update my prosperous readers on what’s been going on. This is fair warning that this post is very random, somewhat all over the place but either way I hope you dig it

I musta been a good girl this year because Santa brought me my “RED BOTTOMS” !!!!!! I luv em because they show toe clevage LOL

I got a few twitter messages asking me to post the hottest NYE looks and I said I would post something but that didn’t happen…I was uninspired so I enlisted the help of my “stylist”. She picked a fabulous all black number from the BCBG store in Plaza Frontenac but unfortunately the blistering cold in Ohio didn’t agree with my outfit of choice. I had to nix the black mini but I still opted to wear the lace turtle neck.

A lie is a lie! Stop lying about the smallest things. Even if someones feelings are on the line. If you don’t mean it, don’t say it. People respect honesty more than deceit…even when it hurts. The hurt will go away but words spoken linger a lot longer after they’ve been said. Say what you mean and mean what u say. Don’t intentionally say you are going to do something knowing you have no intentions of doing it. Your word is your bond. Be a man/woman of your word and start thinking before you speak. As a child my mom would threaten me with a saying that hasn’t left my mind ” don’t write a check, you ass can’t cash”

Your body will tell you when something isn’t right…YOU ARE WHAT YOU EAT! My diet started today and I’m excited!
