For all my BAMA FANS!

Even though I attended Alabama A&M, I have to say Congratulations to the University of Alabama for winning the BCS Championship!!!!

The final score in Thursday night’s game was Alabama 37, Texas 21. I know the folks down in Alabama are going crazy! This was a big win for the university as well as the state of Alabama. They live for Alabama Football.

I’m jumping on the bandwagon! ROLL TIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Even though the Texas Longhorns lost, their players are so open and passionate about their relationship with Christ. Watch the post game interview with Texas QB- Colt McCoy. I was impressed with his response. Even after a disappointing lost, he exhibits an extreme level of maturity by congratulating the Alabama team and most importantly he gives all the glory to God!

Black College Football Xbox Game

The Black College Football Experience (BCFx): The Doug Williams Edition for the Xbox 360 has been released today! Named after the Grambling great and Super Bowl MVP, the game features competitive football game play, real-time interactive halftime shows and head to head drumline competition. The experience also includes a Legacy museum to educate and salute the history of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and their great football legends. Nerjyzed Entertainment is the first African-American owned development studio to receive Gold Certification for the Xbox 360, and BCFx: The Doug Williams Edition is the first video game combining sports and rhythm-based music games. The game is available at GameStop, Wal-Mart, BestBuy, Fry’s Electronic, and Amazon.com.

For all those who didn’t have the privilege of attending an all Black College you don’t know what you’re missing. Aint’ (yeah I said aint) nothing like an HBCU!!!!! I wouldn’t trade my experience for anything. The history in which HBCUs are founded upon create an educational environment that is rich in culture yet comparable to an other university. Attending a Black college is more than an education; it’s an experience. From freshmen move in day til graduation- the classes, tests, campus activities, parties, step shows, road trips, dorm panty raids, sets, cafeteria mystery meat, home sick days, football games, homecomings, etc. all contribute to life long bonds and memories that will last forever.

And of course the best HBCU is ALABAMA A&M UNIVERSITY! Shout out to the BULLDOGS holding down the HILL!

Vick scheduled to play tonight!

Word is Michael Vick will make his Eagles debut in tonight’s preseason game in Philadelphia! woo hoo What I don’t understand is, he’s eligible to play the final two preseason games, but not in the regular season??? Where they do that at? The NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he would consider Vick for full reinstatement by no later than Week 6 (Oct. 18-19). What’s the big deal? Let Vick Play! He served his time, loss millions of dollars, publicly embarrassed, and forced to keep apologizing for his actions. WHAT MORE DO THEY WANT?!

It seems backwards to me that the same people that protest against him and stand for animal rights won’t protest against abortion! All of this controversy over animals yet no uproar about abortion? Some things are not right in this country and I’m a PRO-CHOICE dog owner! Only in this country can you go to jail for 2 years for dog fighting and there’s an ongoing debate if you should be allowed to play football again yet convicted child molesters and sex offenders are given a second chance, allowed to get regular jobs and live in society as long as they are on the registered offenders list!

It’s just my thoughts…

Superbowl XLIII

I definitely don’t consider myself a football fan but I attended a Superbowl party just for something to do. I actually enjoy watching the game but around the 3rd quarter I was very unenthused. I was secretly wishing the Cards would win just because Kurt Warner was a past Rams player and for some reason it’s more exciting to root for the underdog. I got even more excited when Fitz scored a 64-yard touchdown with less than less than 3 minutes remaining. But with 35 seconds left, Santanio Holmes scored the game winning touch down. Final Score Pittsburgh 27 vs. Arizona 23 Good Game!

Congratulations to Pittsburgh’s Mike Tomlin, becoming the youngest Black coach, at 36, to win a Super Bowl!
