This week’s edition of  FAB Friday  is all about flawless skin and fabulous weave! I recently just took notice of model Ubah Hassan. This week she was spotted at the opening of the new Target in Harlem, NY. This girl is absolutely FAB! Her skin and hair is completely flawless!

HAPPY FRIDAY Total Life Prosperity FAM! I posted a FAB Friday post a day early yesterday because I was diggin Amber Rose as Marilyn Monroe but I came across some more FAB looks as I was doing my morning blogroll. Speaking of pumps…My BFF that’s getting married in August is looking for a sparkly, jeweled shoe for her wedding day and we just knew Mr. Louboutin was our go-to guy. #FAIL She had no success at Neiman Marcus or Saks in St. Louis. Together we did some online researching for her perfect shoe. These are some of the FAB pumps we came up with.

Media was in an uproar when Solange Knowles “shaved her head” last summer. I didn’t think much of her hair until now. I know its been a year but her hair grew back fast! (if this her real hair). Celebrity gossip site theYBF.com  is calling her hair a wig. Either way, real or not I like this hairstyle on her. This is her at a recent party at Tao Las Vegas.

Ever since one of my favorite celebrity gossip sites TheYBF.com got a new layout I always have the hardest time with the site but today it loaded and I was surprised to see that Janet Jackson aka Mrs. Jackson if you nasty cut all her hair off/ took her weave out  rocked a new hair do!

If it works for her I love it! I’m sure she will release a statement about her hair in the next few days. It seems as if the media (myself included) are obsessed with hair, and especially “black hair” styles and trends. Personally, I loved her messy up-do she wore a few months back when she made an appearance on 106th and Park. This is definitely a summer style to try.

When I first posted the Giuseppe Zanotti limited edition Holiday Booties back in December of 09, I knew they were a hot shoe and I was waiting to see which celeb would rock them first. Of course it would be none other than Beyonce. She wore them during her Grammy 2009 performance Now Cassie was spotted wearing them to the 6th Annual Candie’s “Event to Prevent” in New York.

Keep your eyebrows maintained!

Quick example: The internet went wild over Lauryn Hill’s return to the public eye a few weeks ago. In my opinion she looked great minus her unruly eyebrows! I wonder is this a “statement” she’s trying to make??? Either way a few years back her brows were shaped well and not overly arched and it makes a big difference in the way her face looks. 

 This applies to the men as well. Unibrows aren’t sexy!

Treatments

There are several ways  to maintain the shape of your eyebrows:

Plucking or tweezing – Probably the easiest and cheapest thing to do. All you need is a mirror and a pair of tweezers. You can start off by having a professional do it so can just maintain the shape then onwards.

Waxing – This involves the use of hot wax over the area. A piece of cloth is applied over it and you wait until the wax sets. It uproots the hair follicles from the root so it lasts longer than plucking.

Electrolysis – Literally, your hair gets electric fried. A stream of current is passed to the root to “kill” it. It’s quite expensive since it may take a series of treatments to do the job. It claims to be permanent for most people.

Laser – Usually done by a dermatologist. There are a handful of different treatments but all use laser energy to get the job done. Also a bit on the expensive side and also claim to be permanent for most people.

My source for maintaining my brows is THREADING:  Originating in India, eyebrow threading can groom and shape your eyebrows as an alternative to plucking or waxing. Eyebrow threading is less painful than brow waxing and not as hard on your skin. Threading yields better result than waxing or plucking because it pulls an entire row of hair from the follicle to achieve a more straight-looking line of hair. I highly recommend threading over waxing, plucking, or expensive hair removal. Try some of my favorite salons:
